Austin Preiss, Rachel Flatts and Scott Preiss
It was a fun night of entertainment at the World Famous Broadmoor Hotel, hosts of this year's US Women's Golf Open. US Figure Skating Olympian Rachel Flatts, 9 Time US National Table Tennis Champion Austin Preiss and US National Table Tennis Coach and Entertainer Scott Preiss. While Rachel met with guests of the Broadmoor and signed autographs, Scott and Austin played more than 75 challengers with no losses. Newgy Industries and Escalade Sports donated the Stiga table and Newgy table tennis rackets for the event.

Just Before The Final Four....
9 Time US National Junior Champion Austin Preiss took time out from his golf training and Golfweek National Junior Golf Tour to join his father in Houston, Texas to perform a halftime show for the Rice University Basketball Team. Prior to the game a few of Rice's players challenged Austin to a friendly game and were quick to discover they should stay with basketball. That evening Scott and Austin performed to the song , "Wipe Out" by the Safari's. In addition to the halftime show Austin and Scott performed for some 1500 Students and Teachers at the Emery Weiner School, a private school in Houston. For the record dad won 11-9 in front of a packed crowd.   |

The setting was too good to believe, playing table tennis by the side of Monterey Bay at Pebble Beach. Joining my son Austin and I this year to our delight was Ellie "The Elegant" Elmira Zainabudinova former Europeon Champion and "Dora The Explorer" Kurimay, former National Team player from Hungry. The guests received coaching, and were entertained with trick shots from all of the players. Special thanks go to Newgy Industries for providing the table tennis paddles that were donated as prizes and for Killerspin for providing clothing for the players.
